About Me

Jessica YANG

Project fellow, COMP, PolyU, Hong Kong

Dr. YANG is a project fellow with the Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. She received her Ph.D. in computer science from the College of Computer Science, Sichuan University, China and has been a postdoctoral fellow with the Dept. of Biomedical Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include Machine Learning, Large-Scale Data Mining, Medical Image Analysis and Augmented Reality. Her publications appear in top-notch conferences (MM) and journals (TMI, TIP, BIB).

She has been involved a lot in AR rehabilitation in recent years. During the COVID-19, the systems she built with her team in CUHK have made it possible for 300+ post-stroke patients (including those from 35 rehabilitation centres and 60+ home users) to continue their trials when most of the centres have suspended their rehabilitation services due to the pandemics. The work has been reported by TVB in March 2021, has won the Best Rehabilitation Programme in the 9th Eldercare Innovation Awards 2021 which held in Singapore in December 2021 and “Certificate of Merit” in Smart Living (Smart Healthcare) in ‘Hong Kong ICT Awards 2021’ in December 2021.

Research Interest: Machine Learning, Large-Scale Data Mining, Medical Image Analysis, Augmented Reality, Healthcare
